Default Petition: Fix hero AI!

I'm sure everyone has noticed that the hero and henchmen AI has gone way down since the release of GWEN. My fiance and I tell them to do one thing, they do the exact opposite. And earlier we were doing the GOLEM quest and right when the heat bar was full, a golem drops so we fail, mostly because the henchmen weren't following us even though they weren't flagged back. So I'm starting this petition to return the hero AI back to normal. Who's with me?!

Yesterday I was playing around with builds and was running a dungeon with my Hero SS. She was sitting in the back, full energy and casting really well. Then all of a sudden with 30+energy, she runs straight for the enemy's and starts tanking them. I flag her back and she doesnt even move. Just sits there in front of them all :S

Before, Hero's had their times of "glory". But now they seem to be acting worse than usual.. Maybe it's just my imagination.

nope they are sucking hard, my monks refuse to cast with full energy...... i still say this is a very bad ploy to get players to pug more.....

I dont know if there is such a thing as dumba$$ pills, but if there is, the heroes are on them lately... things have certainly changed and not for the better.

Only thing that bugs me is playing as a caster.
When you cast a spell on an enemy your hench/heros won't attack unless you wand at the monster or the monster damages someone in your party.

mhelo is more stupid than ever, and why the hell put one elite like that to one monk heachy?? deliverance??? dude he wait till ENTIRE party have down more than 80% to use.. Cmon....and the interup funtion..

...........i have see ascalon margole to interup better than Gwen!!!

I have to REALLY agree on this. Normally I can count on my monkies but they havent done jack really

Gwen isnt that great of an interrupter. I actually had better with the interruption henchmen zho!

They do seem dumber. And they need to add pathing in to. Anyone else notice many times you can't click on an npc or something and you wont automatically go around obstacles to get to them?

Agreed.
Its been frustrating waiting for the heroes/henchies to finished off a spirit while I'm flagging like hell trying to get their attention and getting mocked and swiftly annihilated by a passing group of monsters. telewizja cyfrowa

Yes,, And its a hella pain when you are a healing/prot monk with a urn/object in your hands....

Actually he seems to be using it ""kind of"" right, as a monk healer i cant notice if he is using it at all.

Bear in mind that AI requires server computational power.
Imagine - thousands of players running H/H team each, plus one instance copy with individual monsters in it for each of these players. And voila - huge server cpu power sucked.
Thus ArenaNet needs very smart-coded and straightforward AI to reduce server load. And adding AI feauture that seems to be simple to players may result in significent server load increase.
Probably ArenaNet already have troubles with server load (i noticed heroes/henchies freeze sometimes).

I only done that Golemancer mission last night, but HELL. That was pretty frustrating because the heroes would not just follow me, the would constantly stop to cast spells, attack the other Golems, and innevitably get killed, making the only way to bring them back getting killed, IF you can hopefully reach the ressurection shrine at the top.

I've not had many problems with the game, but that's something that really stands out.

AI was not healing me, because my assassin was not attacking and was low health, yet he kept others well. AI ignored my character because it was not spamming attack against enemy. Other thing include like AI monk not flee and then try to tank enemy.

I'm not having any of my guys & girls ran out on me or not moving yet. On the warrior I rotate between attack & defend setting, casters on defend setting all the time, monks passive setting all the time. You also need to call target in order to get them to attack while they on defend setting.

I can't say the same for henches, they have a lot better skills bar but they use them very badly, MS on spirit, Devona Zergrush Jenkins, Broadhead arrow on melee enemy. etc

Back to the heroes, my most annoying thing is they just will not use some skill that you put on their bar, Jora won't use "watch yourself", The dwarf won't use RoF, Vekk won't use UG and rarely cast ward against XX, The RT keep dropping the item at the wrong time, the only 2 heroes that work really well so far are the new dervish and Gwen.

I went back and try to compare between Koss and Jora, Koss will use watch yourself as soon as it up while Jora will not use it at all (both dragon slasher build vs lv20 mob). So something is wrong here with their AIs and need to be look at.

After doing a few dungeons I've realised that two monks just don't cut it. I thought it was the fact that the team was just taking so much more damage. So I did the Secret Snowmen lair with 4 monks (2 henchies and 2 heroes), Went ok'ish until the angry snowman you kill for the first key.

Whole team is flagged but not really obeying, i'm the only one standing too close to a geyser and get hit. NO other damage was taking place, hero monks were at full energy yet not a single one of the four cast anything to save my skin.

I've gone through all the chapters exploring with just henchies and then heroes when they were added and NEVER had I seen this behavior before. If this is how ANET want to force people to PUG, I do not agree. Give us back AI and not this dumb dumb Artificial Stupidity that we have now.

The ele heroes seem to be acting very strange, running off to attack targets which have not been called, even while he is on defend. I've also seen monk heroes just stand there and let someone die, even though they had enough energy to cast. Something has certainly changed because it never used to be like this a few months ago.
